The Majesty of Zion National Park: Scenic Views and Travel Tips

My husband and I spent three days in Zion National Park which is located in Utah. We stayed about a Mile and a half from the Springdale entrance. I had visited Zion National Park about 9 years ago. I wanted to revisit the park. I also wanted to take my husband so he would visit one of the most incredible places the Lord had created. The Zion National Park is just magnificent. We visited in March which is a shoulder season. The weather is colder this time of the year. Thus, the crowds aren’t as big and the lodging prices are cheaper. The weather was pretty mild when we visited. In fact, we saw the park with the top down on the Solara. During the summer you are not allowed to drive into the park. The shuttle is the only way you are allowed into the park. The shuttles weren’t running (they started on Friday) so we had full access to the park with our car. One day, they closed the park to vehicles. We had to wait until the Rangers opened up the main road. Parking is really limited in the park.

“God did not create humans to have them serve Him, but on the contrary to serve them and involve them in His glory. God’s purpose of creation is to prefect beauty and majesty of heavens and earth, and of human beings, who tell of God’s glory.” Ps. 19:2; Gen 1:26;c.f 1 Cor. 10:31. Proverbs, Doukhan,Pacific Press, 2014.

I hope you enjoy my images. I encourage you to travel to Utah to visit the Mighty Five National Parks. They are all within a day’s drive from each other. This is part one of a two part blog about Zion National Park.

Zion National Park is located in Southern Utah. It was first set aside in 1909 as Mukuntuweap National Monument. This preserved the dramatic canyons and cliffs caused by years of erosion. The lack of iron oxide enhances the Navajo Sandstone.

We took a helicopter ride in the morning. it was a 60 minute ride. We were in the front seats. I wanted the window seat. However, the middle seat turned out to be the best. I will know next time. Zion Helicopter. This was a bucket list trip for me. The views were spectacular and exhilarating.

  1. Few days after we left , cars not allowed and buses only , the best time to go . Never saw such a place ..

  2. From the extensive landscape scenes captured and the text, it appears obvious the area had a large and positive impact on both of you, both photographic and spiritual. When will you give a travelogue at your local library, lol?

    1. Yes it was spectacular!.. I will have another blog with the rest of the pictures from our visit. Didn’t want to overwhelm anybody with so many images. So stay tuned!!
