The Washroom

An old washing machine from the early 1900s in a field next to a barrel overlooking the Arizona desert with the mountains in the background. The image is yellowed to simulate an old photo.
An old washing machine in the desert.

A bucket list image for me. I love  the old black and white images taken during the depression in the mid west. They show the harshness of the times. Widespread poverty, agricultural disasters including droughts. The dust bowl era. People were destitute and you can see the sorrow in their faces. This image reminded me of that era. I hope I have been able to convey some of those feelings in this image.
