God’s Artistry: Reflecting on Sunsets in Carlsbad

We took a road trip on Martin Luther King weekend to Carlsbad, CA. My husband, his daughter, three granddaughters and myself enjoyed the area and we especially enjoyed the food! Carlsbad, California is a seaside town near San Diego on the Pacific Ocean. It is a popular destination due to its climate, outdoor activities and excellent food choices. We spent an afternoon soaking up the sun on the beach and we saw two incredible sunsets. We had a wonderful and memorable time.

Each sunset I saw invited others, as well as myself, to partake in His beautiful all sensing adventure. He surrounded us with beautifully warm intensifying glowing light which enabled us to sense His presence while enjoying our activities. Who else can produce such awe inspiring sunsets? What a wonderful picture of intimacy and adventure that the Lord provided! Each of us experienced our own one on one experience both consciously and unconsciously with our Creator!

Each sunset I saw revealed a different dynamic for me. I watched children playing at the waters edge as the brilliant sunset unfolded in front of me. I imagined my Creator watching everyone bathed in His beautiful light that He was giving us. I believe He was smiling! Everyday He presents opportunities for us to see His love and that He is continuing to pursue us.!

God isn’t distant. He actively woos and pursues our hearts. He seeks intimacy with us through the constant beauty of his sunsets. He romances us!

We have strong desires for adventure, beauty, and meaningful love stories, which show our longing for God.
