A Little Bit of Faith and Photography

Many years ago I learned a  new way to take pictures. Infrared photography was in its infancy at this time for the general public. Photographers used filters mounted on the front of lens before the technology was developed to convert cameras. Filters required longer exposure times to achieve properly exposed subjects.  A conversion is accomplished by removing the hot mirror which is inside the camera.  It reflects about 98% of the infrared light so that only the color light waves are visible in the image. The filters come in  various wave lengths depending on the infrared light you want to capture and are mounted inside the camera in front of the image sensor. I fell in love with this type of photography and over the years I have had many cameras converted.

This image is the final image shot with a converted camera using a 590 nm infrared filter. The original image was two toned, turquoise and tan. In addition to the color manipulation, I added a texture giving the image a weathered look.

I gave this image the title, “Bus to No Where” because the old abandoned bus was somewhere in the boonies of Eastern North Carolina.

Have you ever been on “The Bus to No Where? These would be times in your life where your life was stagnant or you were going down endless rabbit holes not achieving your goals. I certainly have been on the “Bus to No Where” during my life. It was a struggle during those times when I didn’t rely on God to see me through. Now I look to the Lord and let him carry me so I  don’t get  on the “Bus to No Where”.

Isaiah 30:21 “And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ““This is the way, walk in it,””when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left”.
