Do you need a break? From what?
I take a break from worldly affairs every Sabbath by concentrating on my faith and spending time with the Lord. It was difficult in the beginning. I didnt want to give up my time doing what I do everyday. I still have difficulty spending all that time with the Lord even though I know that it does me wonders. It’s nice and relaxing to take a break from my worldly life. What worldly things do I give up? Secular stuff, watching TV, playing on my phone, chores. I am still a work in progress when trying to observe Sabbath the way I should. I ask for forgiveness and try to do better the next Sabbath.
The fourth commandment says:
Exodus 20:8-11 King James Version says:
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
I look forward to enjoying the Sabbath in heaven.
Isaiah 66:23, New King James Version says:
And it shall come to pass That from one New Moon to another, And from one Sabbath to another, All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says the LORD.
