Johnstown,PA: Picturesque Moments in Snow
The Heart of Johnstown.
I live in Johnstown, PA. It’s a beautiful, quaint small town full of old bridges, trains passing through daily and lots of beautiful churches. It was once a prosperous steel town during the industrial age. Johnstown is in the “rust belt”
which is an area of industrial decline. Centered in the Great Lakes region, the rust belt stretches from southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois to western Pennslyvsnia and upstate New York. Johnstown is built along the Little Conemaugh and the Stonycreek which merge to become the Conemaugh River. Johnstown is approximately 50 miles east of Pittsburg, PA.
Johnstown has had snow for the last six days which I love. The snow has turned my town into a picturesque wonderland worthy of postcards, paintings and of course photography. Here are the images I wanted to share with you which showcases my town visually. Comments welcome.
The Stone Bridge. Stonycreek is on the left and the Little Conemaugh is on the right. On the other side of the bridge is the Conemaugh River. The Stone Bridge was constructed in the late 1800s by the Pennsylvania Railroad and is till used today for the trains to travel through Johnstown to their destinations.
