The character of Christ is love. In John 15:12, Christ told his disciples, this is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. Love “rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all thigs.” this love “never faileth.” It can never lose its value; it is a heavenly attribute. As a precious treasure, it will be carried by its possessor through the portals of the city of God. AA 319.2 We see it in the ten Commandments. I feel that our Creators love is extended to the animal kingdom. My goal with this post is to show the love of our Creator through his marvelous creations of His natural world. Love can be described as tenderness, deep affection, protection and warmth.
I feel that our Creator’s love is personified in all of His creations. Since Valentine’s Day will soon be upon us, I thought I would create a post about love. My goal with this post is to show the love of our Creator through the marvelous creations of His natural world.
I had the opportunity to visit the Galapagos islands in 2018. It was on my bucket list. I remember thinking how much fun it would be to go to the Galapagos! What a big dream for a young girl. I learned about all the animals and birds on the Galapagos watching Walt Disney World on Sunday evenings in the sixties.
The swallow-tailed gull is a near endemic breeding bird of the Galapagos (almost entire population restricted to a certain region). When it is not breeding the gull is totally pelagic (inhabiting the upper layers of the open sea), flying and hunting over the ocean. The swallow-tailed gull feeds nocturnally, exclusively. breeding starts at about five years of age and the pairs stay together throughout their lives. They produce one speckled egg at a time.
I found her as we were walking along a path. I might have been ten feet from her.

The Nazca Booby is the largest of the Galapagos boobies. They are about three feet long and have a wingspan of 5 to 6 feet.

The Cormorants live near saltwater. This image was taken in Eastern North Carolina. I was fascinated by the display of tenderness.

These large black seabirds have a wingspan of almost eight feet. The Frigatebirds courtship display is quite spectacular. It is the females who do the conspicuous searching of and selecting of mates. The hens take to the air above the rookery to look over the males, who cluster in groups. Whenever a female circles low overhead, the males react with a blatant display of wooing. Males have scarlet gular pouches, which are shaped life hearts hanging their necks, which are inflated to football-sized balloons. It takes about 20 minutes to fully inflate the pouch, and the male normally sits on a tree and displays it skyward in order to attract passing females. In addition, the male vibrates its wings rapidly back and forth and entices females with loud clicking and drumming sounds. Classic Galapagos: The Natural Habitat Experience Pre-Departure Briefing.

Galapagos Fur seals are endemic to the islands. The males are aggressive and the death rate can be up to 30% annually. Seals hunt at night and their diving time is dependent on the moon phases. Pups nurse for three years.Classic Galapagos: The Natural Habitat Experience Pre-Departure Briefing.

Turtles and iguanas depend on the juicy pads of the prickly pear catus for nourishment.

Iguanas show a lot of tenderness in my opinion! They are harmless. They breed only once every two years. Hundreds of iguanas were piled on top of each other on the beach. Boy were they stinky! And the flies were abundant

God in My Life
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Psalm 19:1.
God has surrounded us with nature’s beautiful scenery to attract and interest the mind. It is His design that we should associate the glories of nature with His character. If we faithfully study the book of nature, we shall find it a fruitful source for contemplating the infinite love and power of God….
The great Master Artist has painted upon heaven’s shifting, changing canvas the glories of the setting sun. He has tinted and gilded the heavens with gold, silver, and crimson, as though the portals of high heaven were thrown open, that we might view its gleamings and our imagination take hold of the glory within. Many turn carelessly from this heavenly wrought picture. They fail to trace the infinite love and power of God in the surpassing beauties seen in the heavens, but are almost entranced as they view the imperfect paintings, in imitation of the Master Artist.
The Redeemer of the world chose the open air in which to give His lessons of instruction…. He chose the groves and the seaside, where He could have a commanding view of landscape and varied scenery, that He might illustrate important truths of the kingdom of God by the works of God in nature.53The Signs of the Times, June 4, 1874 (The Review and Herald, July 25, 1871).
Look at the wonderful and beautiful things of nature. Think of their marvelous adaptation to the needs and happiness, not only of man, but of all living creatures. The sunshine and the rain, that gladden and refresh the earth, the hills and seas and plains, all speak to us of the Creator’s love. It is God who brings the bud to bloom, the flower to fruit. It is He who supplies the daily needs of all His creatures.54Bible Training School, November 1908.
The heart is quickened, and throbs with new and deeper love, mingled with awe and reverence, as we contemplate God in nature.55The Signs of the Times, June 4, 1874 (The Review and Herald, July 25, 1871).
