These are tundra swan. Each winter thousands of these majestic birds winter over at Pungo Lake in eastern, NC. Watching them fly is soothing and calming…Gracefully gliding across the Carolina blue sky and hearing them honking as they cross in front of me. Watching the swans take off is loud and thunderous…Wings flapping, water splashing and the increased honking of swans voicing their opinions as fellow swans take off. Beauty, power, grace and order abound! These are just a few of Christ’s characteristics we can see in Tundra Swans. The beauty of their elegant, graceful wings as they fly across the sky. The power that is required of them to take off while sitting on a lake. The order in which they fly. What do these graceful birds teach you about our Lord?
Job 12:7-10 says: But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:
8 Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
9 Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this?
10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
