In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth…
I am in awe when I spend time gazing up into the Heavens. The stars, planets and the milky way are a testament to my heavenly Father’s character which never changes.
The image above was taken while camping in Joseph, Oregon. The Milky Way was beautiful and the teepee added some depth to the image. A couple of hundred years ago, our Native Americans stepped out of their homes, looked up and saw the exact same scene. Then I started thinking of all the men and women who, in the middle of a war, looked up and saw the same scene and felt some comfort seeing God’s glory.
Centuries of conflicts are fought under the stars. Reasons, places and peoples may change but the Heavens don’t change. Our Creator is steadfast and enduring.
The above image was taken in Arlington National Cemetery in Section 60. This is the section wear our Hero’s are buried that fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. I added a texture to provide anonymity to the Marine buried here. Did he take a few minutes to look up at the Heavens during his tour?
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day ~~and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2Tim 4:7/-8 NIV
I hope that many fleeing the conflict between Russia an Ukraine will look up and see that our Creator loves them and will protect them.
How much longer will the Lord have to witness what is happening amongst his children? He weeps daily. I believe our time is running short.
But I have hope! I am reminded of this verse in Isaiah…”But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (40:31).
When I look up at the Heavens and when I see all the delicate flowers that grace our earth, I see my Creator’s love for me and I don’t worry when I see the troubles in the world.
