Musicians In The Air

Hang in there baby!

Our Creator provided birds to remind us how He takes care of them just as he takes care of us and that these wonderful creatures belong to him just as we do. Psalm 50:11 says I know every bird in the mountains, and the insects in the fields are mine and Matthew 6:26 says Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

I rarely thought about birds as a reminder to us of His love and wisdom until I started writing this blog. I wish I had appreciated birds more when I was younger. I enjoy watching and hearing them as I grow older. I had a lot of birds in my backyard when I lived in Culpeper. I set up several bird feeders so that I could photograph them. I added a texture to the image of the woodpecker to hide the distracting background.

The yellow finch below is singing his heart out the praises of his Creator.

Sing your lungs out!

And the birds are teachers of the sweet lesson of trust. Our heavenly Father provides for them; but they must gather the food, they must build their nests and rear their young. Every moment they are exposed to enemies that seek to destroy them. Yet how cheerily they go about their work! How full of joy are their little songs! Child Guidance, EGW, 58.5
